December Daily 2020 | Day Five

Image
Welcome to Day Five! Today's story makes me laugh. We had a very productive Saturday, going all around and shopping at Target, Home Depot, Walmart, and the Christmas tree lot. We needed new lights for the tree, mistletoe, poinsettias, a light projector for the house, and some extension cords. Even though we needed to go to multiple stores, we found everything on our list. Finally, it was time to buy our tree. We must've circled around the lot 5 times. Then, I saw it. The perfect tree. We took it home and its too big, it scraped the ceiling. In that moment, all I could hear was Ellen from Christmas Vacation. "Clark, do you think there's enough room for the angel?" Trevor trimmed it up, and it looks awesome. Day five was all about our Griswold moment.

December Daily 2020 | Day Four

Hello and welcome to December Daily 2020!! Woo-hoo, it's Friday! And that makes me super happy. Friday nights around here are for pizza, movies, and popcorn. I wanted to document some joys from today: I took Ali's inspiration from her foundation page blog post and cut an old envelope package from an Ali Edwards story kit and punched holes in it and placed it in my album for day four. I took two chipboard tags from this year's kit and made an accordian fold out with some photos and journal cards. Here's what it looks like in my album:

Oh hi! It's me, Mallory. If you didn't already know, I'm a hot mess express. And today, I hurt myself. Here's the story: I had an eyebrow appointment at 5:00, and to kill some time before the waxing, I planned on going to Hobby Lobby and buying some poinsettias. My old ones were done! I had a gift card that I left at home, so right after work, I rushed home to get it. I'm "jogging" to my car to make it to my appointment on time when something went terribly wrong! My foot just buckled underneath me and I rolled my ankle. I got in the car, and in excruciating pain, I called the European Wax Center and canceled my appointment. It was my driving foot, so I didn't want to take a chance. I hobbled back inside, grabbed a frozen daiquiri pouch (that's all I had) and elevated and iced it, while I watched two episodes of The Crown. Ridiculous me, right!! Well, thankfully, I don't think I did too much damage. I'm able to walk around, it's just a l

December Daily 2020 | Day Two

Welcome to Day Two!! I was totally inspired by Tazhiana Gordon today! I wanted to cut my photo and create a flip up using this photo I took of my laptop. It came out really cool! I'm a teacher and everyday, I spend my planning period and lunch time back to back. It's so nice! I get lots of time to prep or grade, and now I'm going to also be looking at others' December Daily pages throughout the month, lol. Google caught my eye and I thought it was so cute! So I decided I wanted to tell the story of virtual teaching and the programs I use that help me out a lot. Here's a look at Day Two: I do apologize for the lighting in my photos, I wake up at 5:00 am to take the photos and it's still dark out. The left side of the spread is the back of the pocket I created yesterday. I stamped "The Story of Today" from an Ali Edwards stamp set, cut a diamond shape (technically a rhombus) from last year's kit in half, and put a puffy star sticker from this year&#

Welcome to December Daily 2020 and welcome to my blog. I tried out this whole blogging thing a few years back, but didn't keep up with it. My biggest problem is inconsistency! Hopefully, I can be successful this time. It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's December Daily time!! December Daily is a project created by Ali Edwards, and it has evolved and become quite popular in recent years. It's essentially documenting one story per day, every day in December, leading up to Christmas Day. But, there are no rules here! You can document more or less, starting before December 1st, or even going through the entire month. Let's take a look at my Day One: I decided to start with a photo of me outside, wearing a mask, because 2020. But it's my new mask from Disney!! And...there's frost on the grass. What a perfect, chilly start to December. I created this pocket with my Silhouette using a cut file from Ali Edwards. I put an old green holly patterned paper

Taylor's school does a holiday shop every year. It's a great way for the kids to shop for their family and friends. Last night, Taylor named all the people he wanted to buy for and we set a budget of $1 per person. He was excited to show me everything he bought, except my gift of course, and I loved listening to him explain his reasons why he chose the gifts that he did. It's so great to see him enjoying the season and partaking in the spirit of giving during the holidays. As soon as we got home, he put his gifts under the tree. So sorry for the bad quality. Taking photos at night stinks! I tried to reduce the glare by standing my album up. Left:  Right: Just a 4x6 photo with some holiday word art added in Photoshop. Tomorrow, I can add another photo to the back, or a 4x6 journaling card.

Day 4 was very simple. My cute little town had a tree lighting ceremony tonight. I took the boys and got some cute photos of them in front of the tree.  Left:  Right:
