Day 4 was very simple. My cute little town had a tree lighting ceremony tonight. I took the boys and got some cute photos of them in front of the tree.
Tonight, we trimmed the tree. Trevor and I decided to do it after Taylor went to bed. As we hung his new ornament, a football he chose himself, I couldn't help but imagine what next year will be like. If he'll be able to help us or not. I'm very anxious to see Taylor's reaction tomorrow, when he sees the lights and ornaments on the tree. For the past few days, he hasn't really payed much attention to the bare tree. Here's my left page: Testing out some lights I had from last year, which we couldn't use because half the strand was out. Here's my right page: The finished tree. Too bad my photos don't do it justice. I gotta learn how to take better pictures of lights and ornaments on the tree. I also included a 2x4 insert with the before tree with just the lights on the front, and the after tree all done and loaded with ornaments, old and new. I just love it! (I apologize for my horrific nails!) Here's my Day Four spread in my ...
It's that time of year again! Last year I embarked on this incredible project for the first time, and I loved it! I've been looking forward to this all year, and now December is almost here! I'm finally done with my album, with the exception of the cover. Not sure what I want to do with that just yet. The foundation pages are ready to go! Every day is basically going to be a 2 page spread, like this: With some overlays thrown in here and there. Here are my foundation pages. A lot of them are super simple because the pages will really come together once the photos are added. And there you have it! Come on December! December Daily is an idea from Ali Edwards. It's a scrapbook to document every day in December leading up to Christmas. It's essentially one story a day. You can check out her 2012 December Daily here an...
Welcome to Day Five! Today's story makes me laugh. We had a very productive Saturday, going all around and shopping at Target, Home Depot, Walmart, and the Christmas tree lot. We needed new lights for the tree, mistletoe, poinsettias, a light projector for the house, and some extension cords. Even though we needed to go to multiple stores, we found everything on our list. Finally, it was time to buy our tree. We must've circled around the lot 5 times. Then, I saw it. The perfect tree. We took it home and its too big, it scraped the ceiling. In that moment, all I could hear was Ellen from Christmas Vacation. "Clark, do you think there's enough room for the angel?" Trevor trimmed it up, and it looks awesome. Day five was all about our Griswold moment.
