Scrapping from the Heart

Taylor's school does a holiday shop every year. It's a great way for the kids to shop for their family and friends. Last night, Taylor named all the people he wanted to buy for and we set a budget of $1 per person. He was excited to show me everything he bought, except my gift of course, and I loved listening to him explain his reasons why he chose the gifts that he did. It's so great to see him enjoying the season and partaking in the spirit of giving during the holidays. As soon as we got home, he put his gifts under the tree. So sorry for the bad quality. Taking photos at night stinks! I tried to reduce the glare by standing my album up. Left:  Right: Just a 4x6 photo with some holiday word art added in Photoshop. Tomorrow, I can add another photo to the back, or a 4x6 journaling card.

Day 4 was very simple. My cute little town had a tree lighting ceremony tonight. I took the boys and got some cute photos of them in front of the tree.  Left:  Right:

It's interesting to see how what used to take an evening now takes all day! Decorating the house for Christmas this year involved everybody and took a really long time, lol. We got a lot accomplished though. The tree, wall unit, random decorations, nativity set, mini trees in boys' rooms, outside lights all done, as well as grocery shopping and meal prep. I'd say it was a very successful Sunday. And it was a Sunday filled with magic. I loved the twinkle lights. I loved looking through all of our ornaments. I loved Taylor's enthusiasm. I loved Tanner talking to the Mickey and Minnie ornament. I loved the boys playing with the light projector on the garage. I loved Tanner listening and repeating "no touch anything".  Today was all about picking out our tree. Last weekend, we visited the tree lot, but couldn't find a tree we liked. So we decided to wait another week. When we walked in, we could see that there were a lot more trees.  I couldn't help but take a picture. :)  I printed the photo 6x8 and kept it out of the page protector. I added a "'tis the season" tag from Ali's main kit this year. On the back was another photo of the tree we picked in our living room. I added some digital word art from the Product Play class.

 So happy and excited to be documenting another December. Bring on December Daily 2017!! I only completed about 10 foundation pages which is so unlike me, but 'm not going to let that get in my way. I don't think I'll be sharing those foundation pages either. But I do feel confident I will keep up this year, and blog it all! :) I knew that I wanted to document Advent for day one because Taylor has been asking and asking since we got back from Florida to open his Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar. This morning, he woke up so excited to see Elfie and open his first creation- a ship from Star Wars Rebels.   Just one page for today but I did create this cute 3x3 transparency with a stamp image of "Hello December" from one of Ali Edwards' earlier December Daily stamp sets.   Here is the back on that: And the page after you've flipped the tranparency:
